Coaching and Therapy have few similarities as both therapist and coaches ask the client questions, sometimes requiring a lot of soul-searching.

There is, however, a lot of difference.

Therapy or Counselling is a process, where the client works with a medical professional to diagnose and resolve self-destructive behaviours, habits, feelings, past traumas, and sometimes physical responses due to underlying issues. In life or Relationship coaching, the client works with a coach, who is not a medical professional, to
1. Get clarity on their vision and purpose
2. Identify obstacles or self-limiting beliefs or disempowering patterns of behaviors
3. Create action plans with life coaching or relationship coaching tools
4. Take control of their mind and emotions
5. Achieve desired outcome
A Coach keeps you focused, keeps you on track, keeps challenging you, and doesn’t let you off the hook.

Therapy is mostly focused on resolving issues from the past, while Coaching focuses on the present and future.
